Sokoto – Mr Adamu Soja, Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC), Sokoto State, said on Thursday that 300 security personnel had been mobilised to provide security before, during and after the Easter festivities in the state.
Soja told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto that the officers had since been deployed to churches and recreation centres, to enhance public safety throughout the state during the period.
He said that various forms of security measures have been adopted to enhance peaceful coexistence in the state.
The NSCDC commandant called on residents to continue with their legitimate businesses as adequate security measures had been taken to guarantee their safety.
Soja appealed for a working understanding with all other security personnel in providing the required intelligence reports that could lead to the arrest and prosecution of criminals in the state.
He called on officers and men of the command to continue to put in their best, assuring that hard work would be appropriately rewarded. (NAN)
