Both leaders exchanged warm pleasantries and participated in the Friday prayers alongside a congregation of faithful. Also present at the prayers were the governor of Bauchi state, Bala Mohammed and the All Progressives Congress national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Ali Modu Sheriff, a former governor of Borno and senator representing the southern senatorial district of the state, Mohammed Ali Ndume, were also at the prayers.
While the two have had a history marked by rivalry, particularly during the recent presidential elections, the recent encounter holds no political undertone as it was a routine exchange of pleasantries by the duo.
