Ilorin – Mr Isaac Adeleye, a final year student of the University of Ilorin and the Founder of Sustainable Achievers, has educated students of ECWA Secondary School, Ganmo near Ilorin, on building potentials in life.

Adeleye told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sidelines of the programme in Monday in Ilorin, that it was important to educate the young minds through exposure in education atmosphere for them to excel in their chosen endeavours.

Speaking on the theme “Developing Your Potentials: The Rising of the Genius”, Adeleye asserted that all Nigerian children have right to education from the young age, which he believed would equip them to excel in life.

The founder of NGO said the organisation is founded on the basis of making change and creating better youths for Nigeria.

“We believe every human is born with great potential and treasure which today, we are helping the school children to realise this hidden potential and actualise them.

“All what these children need is the right orientation to bring them out. Some of them can sing, some are gifted artists and others have the ability for public speaking,” he said.

Mr Great Chukwuebuka, a 600 Level student of the University of Ilorin, and Resource person for the programme, said children needed help so that they can identify who they are and what they can do.

According to him, potential means possibility and that the children can cultivate and nurture their potential through books, exposure to friends and mentors, among others.

He observed that the greatest challenge to youth in the country is unfavourable environment for them to offer what they can do.

Chukwuebuka added that there should be mentors ready to give chances to the youth to explore and reach their full potential.

Mr Ayodeji Gbenro, a 400 Level student of History of the university, observed that Nigeria is a blessed country with full potentials.

He therefore called on government at all tiers to utilise and improve on the abundant material and human resources in the country.

Gbenro advised the Nigerian youth to strive for hard work and love of the country in all their endeavours, adding that there is nothing wrong in get-rich-quick syndrome, if done legitimately with diligence and hard work.

In her appreciative remark, Mrs Comfort Owolabi, an English Teacher at ECWA Secondary School, Ganmo, commended the UNILORIN students for their humanitarian services of building potentials of the children.

She emphasised the importance of catching them young and enlightening the children of different great opportunities waiting for them.
