Renowned Nigerian performer and socio-political advocate, Charles Oputa, widely recognized as Charly Boy, has waded into the controversy surrounding the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) score of Mmesoma Ejikeme, a schoolgirl from Anambra.
Initially, Mmesoma asserted that she had achieved the highest score of 362 in the 2023 UTME examination.
However, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) later accused her of fabricating her result.
In a video that quickly spread online on Monday, Mmesoma expressed her astonishment that a result she obtained from the JAMB portal was deemed fake by the examination board without a thorough investigation.
She vehemently refuted the allegation, firmly stating that she lacked the ability to manipulate her own result.
Addressing the issue, Charly Boy took to Twitter on Monday night, expressing doubt regarding JAMB’s claim.
He urged the board to provide Mmesoma’s examination papers to an external organization for reevaluation.
In his tweet, he wrote, “JAMB must submit her paper to an external body for reassessment. I am currently skeptical of the mark they claim to have awarded her.
“By making this young girl popular, JAMB has inadvertently exposed their corruption and incompetence, just like INEC.”
