Joyce Ijeoma, a skilled masseuse from Nigeria, set out to surpass the existing Guinness World Record for the longest duration of a single individual performing massages on different people reportedly slumped.
Taking place in Lekki, Lagos, Joyce Ijeoma aimed to engage in continuous massages for an impressive 72-hour period.
The endeavour commenced on Saturday, July 1, 2023, but unfortunately, on Monday, July 3, 2023, exhaustion took its toll and she collapsed, as captured in a circulating video during the 50th hour, approximately at 1:30 a.m.
This incident serves as a reminder of the immense physical and mental demands associated with accomplishing a Guinness World Record.
The recent fascination with Guinness World Record attempts was sparked by Hilda Baci, who, in May, successfully set the record for the lengthiest cook-a-thon. Her achievement was officially recognized and she received her certificate in June.
As it stands, the current record holder for the longest full-body massage is Alastair Galpin.
