The match, played at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin was the Ibadan-based club’s fourth loss in the second phase of the league.
Sobogun told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after the loss that the match was an improvement in terms of his player’s performance.
He said this was because most of them just joined the club for the match, noting that they had been writing examinations in school.
“But in spite of that, we were able to contain our opponents because we lost our match against them in the first phase with a margin of over 30 points.
“Now, we have reduced it to 20 points and I am happy with my player’s performance today. I was not expecting the kind of opposition they gave Delta Force,’’ Sobogun said.
According to him, the team is still working to progress because the players were still young and lack exposure.
“You will notice that my players are like the youngest of all players here and they don’t even have experience.
“That is why some of the spectators are calling them U-18, so we are still a work in progress,’’ he added.
The Asaba-based team started dominating play right from the first quarter which ended 28-18.
Oluyole Babes scored 12 points in the second quarter while Delta Force garnered only eight; the eventual winner scored 16 points in the third quarter while Oluyole Babes had 6.
Delta Force Coach, Benson Aikoroje told NAN that his players were able to overcome Oluyole Babes due to their strong attacking force.
“The match was not as easy as when we faced them in the first phase, but our attacking force gave us an advantage,’’ Aikoroje said.
