ABUJA – Thirteen families are jostling for the 10 slots reserved for families that will make it to the academy of the “Maltina Dance All’’ (MDA) Season Eight show.
The 13 competing families are among 28 who scaled through the pre-grand audition show in three regions, namely, Port Harcourt, Abuja and Lagos.
The families of Abunwa, Awokoya, Nwaeze and Oladapo were selected from the Western region with headquarters in Lagos.
Maisamari, Odigie, Unaka, Ezekiel and Leonard families emerged from the Northern region with headquarters in Abuja, while Utere, Dide, Uzodinma and Williams families emerged from the Eastern region which has its base in Port Harcourt.
The families passed the necessary medicals and other screening procedures and were deemed fit to compete as they march towards the academy.
The 2014 edition of MDA, tagged “The Rhythm of Happiness”, will chronicle a new dance style, known as the “Rhythm of Happiness Dance” .
The winning family for the current edition will receive the grand prize of N10 million, while the first and second runners up will get three million naira and one million naira respectively.
The preparation for the show kicked off on Sept. 7 with an electrifying performance by the Maltina all-stars’ team which comprised past participants of the show. (NAN)
