A Lamborghini was destroyed when a boy, deceiving the seller into believing he was old enough to drive, took it on a joyride with his friend.
The owner, failing to inquire about the teen’s age or license status, handed over the keys. Traveling at 62mph amid dark, rainy conditions on the Trans-Canada Highway, the teen lost control, resulting in a crash into a ditch.
Police clarified that the owner permitted the use of the vehicle, unaware of the teen’s true age or licensing status. The 13-year-old driver faces charges including speeding, driving without due care, and driving without a license, under the Motor Vehicle Act. The owner is not facing charges, and police have submitted a report to the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia for claims processing.
