Tragedy struck in Isua Akoko, located in the Akoko South-East local government area of Ondo State, as two individuals lost their lives during an age group festival in the town.
The unfortunate incident occurred due to the ingestion of a concoction during the festival. The creator of the concoction and a middle-aged man visiting from Abuja both succumbed immediately after consuming it.
Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the incident, stating that the victims passed away while being transported to the hospital after experiencing severe vomiting.
She further mentioned that another individual who partook in the herbal concoction alongside the deceased is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
