Abuja – Muhammadu Legacy Foundation (MBLF), has lauded the efforts of Sen. Bukola Saraki, Gov. Abdulfatai Ahmed and Alhaji Lai Muhammed for their selfless leadership role during the general elections in State.
Mr Bode Towoju, the Coordinator of MBLF, North Central and a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja.
He said the selflessness displayed by the trio in the build up to the elections in the state saved the party from defeat, adding that such was the hallmark of good leaders.
Towoju said that Kwara State was able to deliver 100 per cent for the APC because all the knotty issues that could have caused division in the party were handled with maturity by the leaders.
According to him, this gesture alone has made party members to show unalloyed commitment to the growth and stability of the party.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
He said that the party work hard to ensure that it delivered the true dividends of democracy to the people, adding that this would encourage the people to believe in the party.
Towoju urged the Kwara State governor to endeavour to provide enabling environment in the state for business to thrive, saying it would help the state increase its internally generated revenue. He said that in spite of threat by the opposition party to capture the state from the APC, the leadership worked together to deliver the state for the party.
“If the leaders had worked at cross purpose because of personal ambition or infighting, the party have suffered defeat from the opposition, who are already praying for the polarisation of the APC,” he said.
He also commended the people of his ward in Ayedun Oke-ero LGA, of Kwara State for voting the APC, adding that it was the only ward in the state that delivered for the APC.
Towoju said that this was because the of the PDP, Mr Simon Ajibola was from the LGA; adding that the people of Ayedun therefore chose to vote for APC because of their desire for change. (NAN)
