Abuja (Sundiata Post) – No fewer than one hundred and forty armed political thugs have been reportedly arrested by security agents in Enugu.
This is also as hoodlums successfully disrupted the election in parts of Bayelsa State this Saturday morning, March 18, 2023 at the on-going Governorship and State Assembly elections.
Reports from Enugu said that some 140 political thugs were arrested by soldiers in the university town of Nsukka.
Meanwhile, the Bayelsa State Government has confirmed that “Voting materials for Ogbia wards 2, 3, 4 and 5 under Constituency 2 in Ogbia Local Govt Area” of the state were in the early hours of this morning “carted away and destroyed” by hoodlums.
“Gov Douye Diri strongly condemns the act and urges the IGP and Bayelsa CP to restore peace in the area,” the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dan Alabrah, said in a terse statement.
