ABUJA – Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), has travelled to the United States and will also visit Germany, Italy and Canada to interact with Nigerians there.
In a tweet on Thursday from his official handle @PeterObi, the former governor of Anambra State expressed his high regard for Nigerians in the Diaspora, saying “they represent the core of our human development capital and contribute immensely to nation building via remittances and technical knowledge transfer.”
He said: “En route to the U.S.A, I’ll make a pit stop in Germany to interact with Nigerians in Germany. I hold Nigerians in Diaspora in very high esteem;
“They represent the core of our human development capital and contribute immensely to nation building via remittances and technical knowledge transfer. My present outing will take me to Germany, Italy, Canada & the U.S.A. I look forward to the very constructive engagements,” Obi tweeted.

Earlier on Thursday, the Labour Party presidential candidate had held a meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo along with Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Samuel Ortom (Benue). Mr Donald Duke, former Governor of Cross River State, was also in the meeting.
