An Ogun State High Court sitting at Isabo in Abeokuta has sentenced 26-year-old Igede, Benue State-born David Uche to death by hanging following the murder of a retired Senior Magistrate in the state, Mrs Olufunmilayo Timeyin last year.
The house help, who slaughtered his former boss, Mrs Timeyin was sentenced to death on Wednesday in Abeokuta by Justice Abiodun Akinyemi after the suspect was found guilty of the offence which he committed at the residence of the deceased located in Landerin Housing Estate in Abeokuta in March, 2014.
Sundiata Post recalls that prior to the gruesome murder of the 65-year-old magistrate last year, Uche had earlier been arrested and detained by Police when he was alleged to have stolen household items belonging to the late magistrate, including jewelry, electronics and GSM handsets and was caught by the police when negotiating to sell off the items stolen at Oke-Ilewo area of Abeokuta.
