Dutse – Alhaji Babandi Abubakar, Executive Secretary, Jigawa Scholarship Board, on Friday said that 37 out of its 215 students studying abroad would graduate in July.
Babandi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse that those due for graduation included medical doctors, engineers, computer scientists and others from natural and social sciences.
“We are satisfied that the students are doing well and have concentrated on their studies.
“Since their departure abroad, the government has not received any complaints of indiscipline from the countries in which they are studying,’’ Babandi said.
According to him, the state government has clearly warned that any student found wanting would be withdrawn back home.
The executive secretary said the state government projected to spend N913 million on the students’ tuition, accommodation, feeding, and project defence, among others.
Babandi commended Gov. Muhammadu Badaru for releasing N427 million to settle the students scholarship liabilities for 2012, 2013 and 2014.
