Ile-Ife (Osun) – The Ife Chief Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday ordered one Micheal Ajetomobi, 32, to be remanded in Ile-Ife Prison over alleged assault.
The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Mathew Numoipre, told the court that the accused committed the offence at Lugbade Village near Ile-Ife at 1:30 pm on Oct. 30.
Numoipre said that Ajetomobi unlawfully assaulted one Yekinni Adetoro by striking his head with a stick which caused him injury.
He said that the accused also threatened Adetoro with gun and cutlasses with intent to intimidate him.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
According to him, the offence was contrary to and punishable under section 86 and 355 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 34, Vol 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.
Chief Magistrate Risikat Olayemi did not take the plea of the accused, but ordered him to be remanded at Ile-Ife prison custody.
Olayemi said this would serve as deterrent to others who were into such acts and to maintain the peace and order in the area.
She adjourned the case to Nov. 9 for hearing. (NAN)
