RIYADH – Saudi Arabia on Wednesday launched a two-day international summit on the Islamic State militant group, set to be attended by top military and defence officials from 26 countries, the official

According to reports, the event is to be attended by U.S., British and NATO officials in addition to Arab counterparts, several of which are part of the U.S.-led anti-Islamic State coalition.
“The coalition is carrying out airstrikes against the Islamic State extremist group in both Iraq and Syria.
“The summit takes place as the U.S. administration is hosting an anti-extremism summit in Washington, as the government aims to find ways to curb recruitment to violent jihadist groups,’’ it said. (dpa/NAN)
