Benin – Goals from Johnson Binaebi and Bashir Sherif helped Abia Warriors of Umuahia to a 2-0 victory over Crown Football Club on Thursday in Benin in a 2015 Federation Cup match.
In the Round of 32 fixture played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, the Ogbomoso-based Crown FC suffered for failing to convert the several goal scoring chances which came their way.
While Binaebi scored in the 33rd minute, Sherif sealed victory for their side with his 90th minute goal.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) also reports that one highlight of the match was the 60th minute sending-off of Abia Warriors’ coach Ladan Bosso.
He was sent off for obstructing the centre referee.
Coach of the Ogbomoso team, Busari Akeen who praised his lads for a good game, attributed their failure to convert their chances to their loss.
“Football is all about converting your chances and we suffered for not being able to convert our chances.
“Though we played a good game, but we will go back to the drawing board and see how we will work on our deficiencies,” he said.(NAN)
