Lagos – Nollywood actress, Ronke Ojo, on Friday advised upcoming actors and actresses to embrace hard work and be dedicated to the profession in order to succeed.
Ojo told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that a lot of youths ventured into acting because they wanted to be famous and make money from the movie industry.
“Going into the movie industry because of fame and money only is a wrong mindset, because in the short run, you will end up not succeeding.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
“For example, when a lady goes into acting because of fame alone, that is when producers will want to take advantage of her by trying to sleep with her before being given a role.
“But if this lady in context knows her onions in the profession, she will not be given such offers by unscrupulous producers,’’ she said.
The actress advised upcoming film makers to learn the rudiments of the profession first before applying themselves to the art of acting.
“It is only when you are sound and know the nitty-gritty of acting that you will get lead roles to play and be successful,’’ the actress said.
Ojo said that the movie industry had contributed immensely to job creation and had helped to take a lot of youths off the streets. (NAN)
