Makurdi – Benue governor Samuel Ortom is to attend the 29th Belagro International Exhibition in Belarus, Eastern Europe, as part of efforts to cement a partnership arrangement that would enhance the agricultural sector.
A statement from the Government House in Makurdi said on Thursday that Ortom would use the period to discuss ways to improve the agriculture value chain to widen the scope of the sector and boost farmers’ yields and gains.
It said that the governor, who was invited to the exhibition slated to hold between June 6 to 11, 2019 by the Ambassador of Belarus to Nigeria, Mr Vyacheslav Bril, would also explore “many areas of collaboration”.
It listed some of the areas to include the supply of agriculture machinery and their maintenance, as well as training schemes for job creation and youth empowerment.
