Kabul – At least 17 insurgents including six Islamic States (IS) fighters were killed and three others injured during some airstrikes.
Afghan Defence Ministry said on Thursday that the airstrikes were carried out by Afghan air forces in Nangarhar province on Wednesday.
“Air forces conducted air raids in Achin, Hisarak and Deh Bala districts of Nangarhar province, killing 17 armed militants including six IS fighters and injuring three others,’’ the ministry statement said.
During the strikes, two hideouts of the insurgents were completely destroyed, the statement added.
Neither the Taliban nor IS militants commented on the report, so far.
