OWO (SUNDIATA POST)- Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has pledged not to abandon all projects initiated by his former boss, the late Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu.
Aiyedatiwa stated this on Monday in Owo at the palace of Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, during his campaign to the local government area of the state.
The governor is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State.
Aiyedatiwa, who praised the people of Owo for their solidarity since his assumption of office, pledged to complete all legacy projects initiated by Akeredolu across the state.
The governor said that his administration was committed to better welfare of the people and enhancing subventions to institutions in Ondo State.
He added that his plans included the upgrading of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic to a university.
“We are here today at Owo, the local government of the deputy governor, the commissioner of finance, special adviser on environment and other political office holders in this government.
“We were well received and we have been promised that the vote from this local government would be given to APC.
“This is also the local government of the late governor, may his soul rest in peace, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
“We have been shown love here. The people of Owo, all the traditional rulers have spoken with one mind and have all agreed that APC is the party they are supporting.
“As the governor and candidate of the party, I am so thankful to the traditional rulers, the political leaders, for mobilising their people and for charging them to rally round to vote APC,” he said.
Earlier, the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, appreciated the governor for his passion for the development of Owo and the appointment of indigenes of the town in his cabinet.
Ogunoye assured Aiyedatiwa of the total support of all traditional rulers in Owo Local Government area and the people ahead of the governorship election. (NAN)
