Nigerian striker, George Akpabio continued his fine pre-season form with a hat-trick as Ajax Cape Town thumped Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University All Stars 7-0.
Akpabio’s three goals follow up the two he scored at the weekend and will no doubt harden Ajax’s resolve to hold on to him with the player reportedly keen on a move to newly-promoted Chippa United.
Akpabio scored 13 goals on loan at Chippa in the National First Division and was one of the major reasons why they claimed their place in the PSL.[eap_ad_2]
Chippa believe that Akpabio’s contract with Ajax is over and that the player is free to sign for them on a permanent basis, but the Urban Warriors says they have exercised a one-year option.
More good news on the night for Ajax was a fit-again Nathan Paulse, who found the back of the net, while Keagan Dolly also scored for the second game running.
The final two goals came from promising youngster Ziyaad Eksteen.
Ajax also defeated the George Soccer Academy 3-0 with trialist Ebrahim Seedat getting one and Zimbabwean forward Simba Sithole two more. (supersport.com)[eap_ad_3]
