The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally requested Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio to urge Senator Ali Ndume of Borno South to resign from the party and join either the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or any other opposition party.
In a letter signed by APC National Chairman Alhaji Umar Ganduje and National Secretary Senator Surajudeen Basiru, the party also announced the removal of Senator Ali Ndume from his position as Chief Whip of the 10th Senate. He has been replaced by Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno of Borno North.
The APC cited Ndume’s criticisms of President Bola Tinubu as inappropriate and stated that his remarks were not supportive of the Federal Government’s agenda.
The request was supported by all APC Senators during a session presided over by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
