Lagos – Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Wednesday urged newly appointed Permanent Secretaries to make quality public service delivery their watchword.
Ambode made the call at the swearing-in ceremony of 19 Permanent Secretaries at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
”Your appointment was as a result of careful selection based on merit, professionalism and good track record.
”The aim is to promote good governance of transparency, accountability, inclusive and good governance for the common good of Lagosians.
”It is a call to rededicate yourselves to quality service delivery and any Ministry where quality service is compromised, the Permanent Secretary will be held responsible.
”I expect nothing but excellence and justify the responsibility bestowed on you, ” he said.
In her address, Mrs Folasade Jaji, Head of Service said that the appointment was in fulfilment of Section 208 of the 1999 Constitution.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
Jaji commended Ambode for his confidence in female civil servants.
According to her, by these appointments, diligence, loyalty, dedication and hard work are being rewarded.
Mrs Elizabeth Adekanye, on behalf of the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, promised to deliver and ensure a greater Lagos.
”We have gotten to the peak of our careers and we promise to justify the confidence reposed in us.
