obianoAWKA – Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra State said on Wednesday that his administration was willing to collaborate with the Thailand Business Community to boost the state’s agricultural programmes.

Obiano gave the indication when the Nigerian Ambassador to Thailand, Amb. Chidi Okafor, paid him a courtesy call at the Governor’s Lodge in Awka.

He noted that Thailand was renowned as one of the major producers of rice, cassava, maize and other key crops his administration was targeting in his agricultural revolution programme.

The governor said that a state delegation would soon visit Thailand to expand knowledge on production techniques of the key crops. Responding, Okafor assured Obiano and the people of the state that the Thailand Business Community would support the government in its developmental programmes, especially in the agriculture sector.

He said that Thailand would provide skills and technical assistance to the state in diverse agricultural activities.

According to him, Nigeria has enough rainfall to grow any crop and restore agriculture as the primary foreign exchange earner. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
