Obiano gave the indication when the Nigerian Ambassador to Thailand, Amb. Chidi Okafor, paid him a courtesy call at the Governor’s Lodge in Awka.
He noted that Thailand was renowned as one of the major producers of rice, cassava, maize and other key crops his administration was targeting in his agricultural revolution programme.
The governor said that a state delegation would soon visit Thailand to expand knowledge on production techniques of the key crops. [eap_ad_2] He expressed the hope that the collaboration would help stem the increasing number of Nigerian youths in Asian prison, including Thailand, over drug-related offences.
Responding, Okafor assured Obiano and the people of the state that the Thailand Business Community would support the government in its developmental programmes, especially in the agriculture sector.
He said that Thailand would provide skills and technical assistance to the state in diverse agricultural activities.
According to him, Nigeria has enough rainfall to grow any crop and restore agriculture as the primary foreign exchange earner. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
