Lagos – The Primate of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Nicolas Okoh, on Tuesday said that a newly ordained Bishop must work on God’s agenda and maintain close relationship with Him.
Okoh said this at the consecration of Ven. Timothy Adebayo as of Bishop of Igbomina West, at the Cathedral Church of Christ Marina, Lagos.
He urged the newly ordained priest to be dedicated to the things of God.
“We should have a good relationship with God, avoid distractions and trust in the unfailing power of God,” Okoh said.

The Primate urged the bishop to see to both spiritual and physical welfare of his members.
“To the congregation, he is a man set apart by God, do not be wolves to him, do not tempt him, he is a human like you, do not make life difficult for him,’’ he said.
The Archbishop of Lagos Mainland, Most Rev. Adebayo Akinde, urged the newly ordained bishop to be steadfast in God, saying the arm of flesh is bound to fail.
“He should think right and take noble decisions. He is to maintain discipline, but should always be merciful.
He urged him to defend the faith of the church, even if it meant losing his life.
Responding, Adebayo said that he was grateful to God for the new position. (NAN)
