Kano – The Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria, has concluded arrangement to train 100 staff of Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission.
The Executive Chairman of commission, Mr Muhuyi Magaji, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on Thursday in Kano at the end of a meeting with the Provost of the Academy, Prof. Sola Akinrinade.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the team from the Academy was on an assessment tour of facilities at Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission.
Magaji said the training would be conducted in the area of security, investigation, intelligence gathering and surveillance.
“We are in the process of establishing offices in each of the 44 local government areas of the state, hence our decision to partner with the Academy to train our staff.
“Capacity building is the bed-rock of any organisation and on this basis, we are sending 100 of our staff for training at the Academy,” he said.
He expressed optimism that the training would enable the commission perform its duties effectively.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
In his remarks, the Provost of the Academy, Prof Sola Akinrinade, said the team was in Kano on the invitation of the commission to assess its training needs.
“Our visit to the commission was to assess its training needs, and on this basis, we have agreed to train 100 of its staff.
“For the fight against corruption to be effective, we have to strengthen the capacity of the operators,” Akinrinade said.
He said that the training, which would commence in March, would be conducted in two batches. (NAN)
