Dutse – The All Progressives Congress (APC) Broom Platform has expressed satisfaction at the high quality of capital projects executed by the Federal Government in Jigawa.
The Broom Platform is a grade A support group of the APC, made up of more than 50 seasoned journalists.
Its objectives include promotion of political integrity of the APC, President Muhammadu Buhari and the Progressive governors.
Dr Tom Ohikere, Coordinator of the platform, expressed the position at the maiden nationwide media tour of the organisation in Dutse on Thursday.
He said the organisation had inspected the 27-km Kwanar Huguma-Shuwarin Federal road in Dutse, which he said was 75 per cent completed.
He said it also inspected work at Limawa-Zobia 22-km road, the three-kilometre Ibrahim Aliyu Bye-Pass and the 1.5 km Mechanic Village-Madobi Road, all of which were between 70 to 100 per cent level of completion.
He said the nine million litres Disina Water Plant was also inspected by the organization, adding that the plant was a component of the 25 million litres Greater Dutse Water Project constructed by the state.
At Shuwarin, he said the team inspected a fly over also constructed by the Federal Government.
Ohikere noted that the project, which was conceived by the previous administration, was abandoned shortly after it took off.
“We learnt that this project was started by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s regime, but it lingered on up until the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari, who completed it.
“It is a high quality critical infrastructure linking the Northwest and the Northeast.
“ It is the best in the north because you can only find this type of project in Lagos,” he said.
“We are going round to authenticate the claims of the APC in infrastructure development.
“The APC government had spent billions on capital projects. That is what we are interested in seeing and reporting,” he said.
