The crisis in the ruling All Progressive Congress deepened on Saturday as parallel state congresses produced two chairmen in Oyo State.
In Lagos, Alhaji Tunde Balogun has emerged as the Chairman, Lagos State Chapter of the party.
Balogun was confirmed through affirmation by delegates from 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas on Saturday at State Congress held in Ikeja.
Nigeria Politics Online reports that there was no election as the 36 new state executives were chosen based on affirmation by the delegates.
Earlier, the Chairman of the state APC Congress committee, Senator Uche Ekwuenife said there would be no voting because delegates had agreed on concensus list.
In Oyo, the Abiola Ajimobi faction of the party held its congress at the Adamasingba Stadium while the Unity Forum held a separate congress at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium Ibadan.
