APGA set to improve the fortunes of Enugu State if… Frank Nweke

Mr Frank Nweke

ENUGU- Enugu State will witness “disruptive’’, but positive governance from 2023 if the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr Frank Nweke, is elected into office.

Nweke, former Minister of Information, gave the assurance on Saturday in Enugu at the end of the party’s ward-level consultative meetings held simultaneously across the 260 political wards in the state.

The APGA governorship candidate, who went round some of the wards as the meetings progressed, said efforts were in top gear to break the yoke of bad governance in Enugu State.

He said the meetings were part of strategies to mobilise massive grassroots support to bring about “disruptive, good, positive and impactful governance to Enugu State’’.

“From the feedback we are getting, it has become clear to people of Enugu State that the incumbent party, and its governorship candidate, are incapable of addressing the peoples’ pains.

“Take water for instance.

“How can one explain that Enugu has no potable water when we have water schemes that can provide the needed 150 cubic meters daily if optimised?

“How did we get it so bad that things like basic sanitation and waste management have been made to look like rocket science?’’ Nweke queried.

The governorship hopeful said his goal was not to regurgitate the usual complaints, but to offer workable public policy templates to get things done and alleviate the sufferings of the people.

He said he would energise his supporters and party faithful to continue their mobilisation to get the citizens of the state to rise and rebuild Enugu State.

In his remarks, APGA Chairman in Enugu State, Chief Ndubuisi Enechi-Onyia, said the party had distinguished itself by nominating a credible, seasoned and public-office tested candidate.

He noted that Nweke’s meritorious service as minister and his set of values and vision for a prosperous state as captured in his manifesto had made APGA the choice of Enugu State people.

“Also, the poor performance of the incumbent party has set the ground for a widespread acceptance of APGA in the state,’’ Enechi-Onyia stressed. (NAN)
