Asia-Pacific leaders determined to jointly fight Ebola

BEIJING – Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday said leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies were determined to work together to fight the Ebola epidemic.

Xi said that they would make joint efforts to help African countries become more capable to effectively cope with and control the epidemic.

The APEC economies support the UN’s leading role in assisting Africa to combat the outbreak of the disease.

He told a press conference after the conclusion of the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting. (Xinhua/NAN)
