ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – The Aso Villa Chapel, Abuja, on Sunday, led other worshippers in the local assembly to celebrate Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, wife of the Acting President, who turned 50 on Saturday, July 15.
The Chaplain, Aso Villa Chapel, Pastor Seyi Malomo, who presented an Holy Bible described as the biggest Bible he has ever seen in the world to Mrs. Osinbajo, said the holy book has five translations.
Speaking during the presentation of gifts on behalf of the church, the immediate-past Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), Deaconess Juan Ayo, described Mrs. Osinbajo as not only a godly and virtuous woman but a “mentor of Nigerian womanhood.”
Ayo, who referred to her as a supportive wife, also described her as a beautiful woman.
“The paradox of what we are presenting today is an enbodiment of the lady we are presenting this gift to. Even at 50, she still wears innocence of an infant. She is a godly woman, a virtuous wife, a beautiful woman and a supportive wife. She is the mentor of Nigerian womanhood,” she said.
In his sermon titled: ‘Triumph of Hope,’ the General Superintendent of New Covenant Gospel Church and President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev Felix Omobude, said it is significant that the Bible would link the rebirth of a nation to a woman in labour.
Reading from Isaiah 66:8-10, he said only hope sustains a nation and urged Nigerians to have hope in God that in spite of the difficult challenges facing the country, Nigeria would be great again.
Quoting from the book of Solomon 5:5, Omobude assured that since Nigeria is a God’s project, “Our God never gives up on his project.”
“There is no room for the self-defeated in this world and we must know that challenges is part of life. Life would have been boring if there are no challenges. So, I call on everyone to embrace God’s provision and know that we are his divine project,” he stated.
The clergyman also noted that many children died at the age of five and congratulated Mrs. Osinbajo for making it to 50.
“So let’s thank Him. He is God of the night; He is God of the day. He is God when you are happy and He is God when you are not happy. He will continue to uphold you (Mrs. Osinbajo) and everyone. He who has begun this good work in your life will complete it,” he prayed.
Prayers were aslo offered for President Muhammadu Buhari’s quick recovery.
The choir and children in the church rendered various songs to honour Mrs. Osinbajo.
While the children presented a cake and beautiful flowers to her, the adults gave her a massive Bible, portrait of her picture and a cake.
Present at the occasion included the father-in-law to the acting president, Elder Olutayo Shoyode; Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang; among others.
