AUN-API deeply sympathises with families of the victims and prays that they bear their losses with fortitude, it said in a statement signed by the President of the organisation, Dr. Margee Ensign.

“AUN-API recommends that governments and security personnel move to quickly douse tension in the communities where the violence occurred and ensure it does not spread. Those behind the killings must be found and made to face justice. Improved security will guarantee peace in the communities and restore confidence in the institutions of government among community members.
“AUN-API is asking the people of the affected communities not to take the law into their own hands but to cooperate with security agencies in restoring peace and safeguarding the neighbourhood.
“We are urging communities to imbibe the culture of mutual tolerance and respect and to show love to one another in these difficult times,” the statement said.
