Okitipupa – A 33-year-old auto mechanic, Shina Omole, was on Friday arraigned in an Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court, Ondo State, for allegedly defrauding one Ayodele Ayerin of N300,000.
Omole, whose address was not provided, is facing a charge of advance fee fraud.
The prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 4, around 10:30 a.m. at No. 1, Irele junction, Okitipupa.
He alleged that the defendant collected the money from the complainant to help him buy a generator, which he failed to buy.

The offence contravened Section 419 of the Criminal Law of Ondo State, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr Banji Ayeomoni, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000, with a surety in like sum, and adjourned the case until May 14 for mention.
