Barely one week after conceding defeat to General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) in the March 28 presidential election, the Bayelsa Development Forum is making an elaborate plan to host President Goodluck Jonathan to a heroic welcome, as he prepares to return to the state.

This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Secretary-General of BDF, Chief Ebimo Anderson.

The organisation said it had already sent a written letter to the Bayelsa State Government to intimate it of its plan to host the reception for Jonathan.

The BDF also requested the support of Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake  Dickson to enable it effectively mobilise Bayelsans across the state to turn out en-mass for the event.

While applauding the achievements of the Jonathan administration in national cohesion and economic development, the forum said his record of service to the nation would not easily be forgotten.

Anderson said, “As Ijaw people and proud Bayelsans, even though, we are deeply pained by the loss of our son at the polls, we are grateful to God and Nigerians for entrusting one of our own with the responsibility of leading this great nation at a time when it was thought impossible that a minority from the South-South will hold the highest office in the land.

“We are indeed glad that President Jonathan did not disappoint us as a nation by his sterling leadership and in the process making history.”

The statement further thanked Governor Dickson for standing by Jonathan all through his Presidency and called on Bayelsans to ignore every propaganda and campaign of calumny against the governor allegedly being perpetrated by Senator Heineken Lokpobiri on the social media.

Anderson cited a fake video, which it said was posted on the YouTube accusing the governor of leading thugs to invade the court recently.
