Abuja – The Coalition of All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Groups has called on political leaders in Bayelsa to localise the Dec. 5 governorship election in the state by carrying along all stakeholders in the grassroots.
Amb. Sokari Afiesimama, the Interim National Publicity Secretary of the coalition, made the call in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday.
“We believe that all APC members will be properly informed to mobilise the electorate at the grassroots for the party to emerge as the winner of the election.
“They should also ensure that they mobilise people party members in Bayelsa and Kogi,’’ he said.
Afiesmama recalled a recent advice of Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu that people of Bayelsa should ensure that Chief Timipre Sylva, the APC candidate in the state, became the next governor of the state for development.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
The coalition, therefore, urged APC leaders and members in Bayelsa to support Sylva’s choice to experience the desired change.
It urged the Federal Government to develop the Niger Delta region, intensify fight against corruption, create more jobs and ensure youth and women development, among others.
“We advise Nigeria youths to remain steadfast and focus in their dream of building a new Nigeria of their choice.
“Members of the coalition are embarking on sensitisation and awareness campaign to the grassroots to keep the people well informed of government’s desire to build a reliable and strong Nigeria.
“This is a method to make the youth contribute to building a strong and united Nigeria,’’ the statement quoted Afiesmama as saying.(NAN)
