Maiduguri – The Borno State Government will collaborate with the National Boundary Commission (NBC) to address boundary issues with the neighbouring states of Yobe, Adamawa and Gombe.

state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Usman Durkuwa, gave the assurance on Friday in Maiduguri when he received the Director-General of the NBC, Dr Muhammad Ahmad who paid him a courtesy visit.
Durkuwa said that the government would also collaborate with the commission to prepare ground for the successful conduct of the upcoming National Census.
He described the visit as “timely,’’considering the fact that most of the local government areas in the state captured the Boko Haram terrorists had been liberated.
The deputy governor said that the state Boundary Committee, reconstituted a few ago by the government, would soon be inaugurated.
Earlier, Ahmad said that the visit was to solidify the relationship between the commission and the state government.
He pledged to work in concert with the government to address boundary issues in the state. (NAN)
