Maiduguri –  Some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders in Borno, on Friday rejected the suspension of the state chairman of the party by the PDP National Working Committee.

The state Secretary of the PDP, Alhaji Usman Danjuma, who made the announcement at a press conference in Maiduguri, said that the stakeholders did not also recognise the last congresses conducted by the party in the state.

“You are aware of the present pandemonium and embarrassing situation caused by some new comers Into our party.

“We are determined to put a stop to all sort of impunities, conspiracies, thuggery and all forms of illegality which bedevilled the principles of our party.

“We therefore reject in totality the purported suspension or sacking of Borno state PDP chairman and appointment of acting state and electoral committee chairmen.

“Before anybody can be sacked, he must appear before the disciplinary committee, but no one has invited anyone.

“Producing a list of persons in the name of congresses at ward, LGA’s and state levels as well as electing national delegates in the state is also illegal and did not go inline with the guidelines of the congress.

“We therefore called on genuine PDP members, the general public and all concerned authorities to disregard the illegal congresses which violated the guidelines of the party.” Danjuma said. (NAN)
