Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has ordered the arrest of Midat Joseph, a Leadership newspapers correspondent based in Kaduna.
Nigeria Newsdesk on its twitter handle @ NigeriaNewsdesk on Thursday said, “ElRufai arrests Kaduna journalist”.
Midat was said to have been arrested by security operatives at his house in the early hours of Thursday, April 20.
While reports of the reason for his arrest are still sketchy at the time of filing this report, sources said the journalist was picked up for publishing a report alleged to be critical of the Kaduna State government.
Sundiata Post recalls that since the assumption office in May 29, 2015, Midat arrest brings to six, the number of journalists arrested on the orders of the state governor.
