ABUJA – The House of Representatives has resolved to go on two weeks break to avoid contracting the fast spreading Coronavirus.
The federal ministry of Health had recently announced the first case of the virus infection in Lagos, Nigeria, which was carried by an Italian male from Milan.
The lawmakers took the decision after debating a motion on the spread of the virus. The break starts tomorrow, March 4.
Reps minority leader, Mr. Ndudi Elumelu, had called for the two-week postponement of parliamentary activities while contributing to a motion on “Emergency response to the dreaded Coronavirus” raised by Hon. Unyime Idem (PDP, Akwa Ibom).
