ABEOKUTA – The Ogun ministries of Finance and Budget and Planning say they require about N4.8 billion to meet their various obligations in 2015.
The ministries’ commissioners made the assertion on Tuesday in Abeokuta while defending their 2015 budget proposals before the state House of Assembly.
Mrs Kemi Adeosun, Commissioner for Finance, said the ministry generated N3.1 million between January and October, and hoped to generate N10 million as Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in 2015.
Adeosun said that the ministry required N3.44 billion for recurrent expenditure in 2015, while N300 million was needed for capital expenditure.
The commissioner explained that N10 million was earmarked for the repair and the rehabilitation of office accommodation, while N37.5 million would be for the purchase of six Hilux vans.
On her part, Mrs Wande Muoyoi, Commissioner for Budget and Planning, said the ministry’s required a total of N1.099 billion for 2015.
Muoyoi said that the ministry had earmarked N750 million as its capital expenditure while N349 million would be for recurrent expenditure.
She disclosed that the ministry generated N1.029 million between January and October, adding that the ministry expects N2.7 million in 2015.
The commissioner promised to ensure effective management of the state’s budget.
She said that it would also ensure that government agencies observed adequate due process in their transactions. (NAN)
