Other beneficiaries were the Motherless Babies Home, Shagamu; an orphanage in Bashorun area of Ibadan managed by the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), and the Lepers’ Colony in Akure.
The rest were Abiye Motherless Babies Home, Osogbo; Jamaa Taawuun Motherless Babies Home, Iwo, and a host of poor people in Ondo and Ekiti states.
Olufunmilade said in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday that the gesture was to demonstrate the love and care of the Buhari administration for the less privileged.
“The donations are to tell them the Government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo, loves them and wishes them a happy New Year,’’ he said.
Olufunmilade promised charity homes that did not benefit from the donations that the group would reach them in future.
He urged Nigerians to pray for the Buhari-Osinbajo administration to succeed in all areas of its interventions.
He also called on the citizens to work for qualitative change in their respective fields.
This, according to him, is the minimum that can be done to support the administration, which offers Nigeria a rare opportunity to breakthrough. (NAN)
