Abuja – Sen. Benjamin Uwajumogu, Chairman, Senate Committee on Employment, Labour and Productivity has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari over his victory at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
The tribunal on Wednesday, dismissed the petition by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the Feb.23 election against the election’s Buhari’s.
In a judgment, read by Justice Muhammad Garba, the tribunal declared the president as the actual winner of the Feb. 23 presidential election.
Uwajumogu, in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, said that the judgment was an affirmation of that Nigerians voted for Buhari.
He said with the judgment, the president would now focus on creating more employment opportunities for youths, thereby boosting development.
Uwajumogu advised the opposition not to appeal the judgment saying that doing that would be an “effort in futility.”
The APC Senator representing Imo North Senatorial District, enjoined Nigerians to continue to pray for Buhari to lead the country to its desired development.
“I am more than convinced that, with the support and cooperation of all Nigerians, Buhari would no doubt lead the country to the promise land”.(NAN)
