Yenagoa – Chevron Nigeria Ltd. in partnership with Agbami Group on Thursday donated office equipment, including chairs, conference table and air conditions to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Bayelsa.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the items were received in Yenagoa by the Bayelsa Comptroller of Immigration Service, Mr Sule Wunti.
The Agbami Group is a consortium of multinational oil companies in the country.
Presenting the items, the Port-Harcourt area Manager of Chevron, Mr Joe Jakpa commended the immigration service in Nigeria.
“We are here to acknowledge and appreciate the services of immigration officers in this part of the country; their contribution to nation building cannot be over-emphasised.
“I must say that the NIS has done well in checkmating the movement of people coming in and out of the country.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
“Their waterways service is commendable; the monitoring of ships and vessels, especially in the Niger-Delta region is a welcomed develpement,” he said.
Mr Sule Wunti, State Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service commended Chevron and Agbami group for their support.
He pledged the command’s resolve to work hard in checkmating immigrants and urged the team from Chevron and Agbami group to sustain the existing cordial relationship between them and the NIS. (NAN)
