Chief of Naval Staff tasks officers on physical, mental fitness

Abuja  – The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, on urged naval personnel keep fit always for optimal performance in their duties.

He gave the advice at the first quarter routine march for Nigerian Navy personnel in Abuja.

Ibas, who was represented by Rear Admiral James Oluwale, Group Director, Navy Holdings Limited, said the march was imperative ensure effective and efficient service delivery by the navy.

“The turnout is very impressive and our performance is commendable. I am very convinced we are all feeling very good.

“The objective and aim of the march has been achieved; we have all sweated very well, and this has added value our health,’’ he said.

Ibas said the routine march was a way of re-energising the officers and also getting them together socialise.

He advised that the exercise should be sustained, adding that those on essential duty who could not participate should make themselves available next time.

According him, as military personnel, one must be fit enough to be able to do his job effectively. (NAN)
