Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Personal Assistant to the Executive Director (ED), Lagos International Trade Fair, Dr. Peter Eromonse Oriaran-oris has tasked the federal government to prioritize the rights, welfare, education, security, and safety of children in the country.

Oriaran-oris said if every child have right to quality education, the future of the country will no longer look bleak, adding that the future of the country depends on educating the children.

The Scribe-man Stated this on Monday in Lagos during his message to mark the 2024 Children’s Day.

“Government should focuse on protecting the rights of every child and making sure children of school age have access to high-quality basic education, which will inspire them to express their creativity in science, technology, art, and music, and make their voices heard in the society.

“Children are an essential part of our society. Without them, there will not be a transition to a greater tomorrow. They mirror the outlook of our future, and the tomorrow we want to bequeath to them.

“We are, therefore, committed to ensuring that their rights, which are fundamental are protected” he said.

On the theme of this year’s Children’s Day, “For every child, every right,” the Oriaran-oris appealed that government should eliminating child labour, child trafficking, malnutrition, or any other form of attacks, adding that no child in the country should be allowed to experience a setback in their education due to their family background.

He highlighted the need for collaborative efforts between government, non-governmental organizations, and the community to create a conducive environment for children’s growth and development.

While praising the efforts of teachers, parents, and caregivers who play a crucial role in shaping the lives of young ones, he added, “Let us all work together to build a brighter future for our children.
