ENUGU – Gov. Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has proceeded on his annual vacation after handing over to his deputy, Mr Sunday Onyebuchi.
Briefing journalists at the end of the state’s executive council meeting in Enugu on Wednesday, the Commissioner for Information, Mr Chuks Ugwoke, said the governor would spend his vacation with his family in Miami, the United States.
Ugwoke said the council used the occasion to warn the citizens who engaged in trading on walkways, saying that they would be prosecuted if caught.
The commissioner said the council had approved the purchase of 6,000 laptops for use by civil servants at the state secretariat complex.
He noted that the government would pay 50 per cent of the cost of the laptops while interested civil servants would pay the balance on a monthly installment of N3160 over a period of one year.
Ugwoke said the decision was to promote information and communication technology with a view to improving productivity among the civil servants. (NAN)
