ABUJA – A Gudu Upper Area Court in the FCT, on Thursday sentenced a 24-year-old cleaner, Ezen Nnamdi to five weeks imprisonment for criminal trespass.

The Judge, Umar Kagrko, however, gave Nnamdi an option to pay N6,000 fine, and warned him to desist from any criminal acts in the future..
The prosecutor, Sgt. Mohammed Garba told the court that Nnamdi, who resides at Apo Dutse, Abuja, was arraigned for criminal trespass and attempted theft of generator set at Area 2 Park and Garden, Garki, Abuja.
Garba said the complainant, Ogbole Linus of Area 2 Park and Garden, Garki, Abuja, raised an alarm as he sighted Nnamdi trying to steal the generating set from the premises.
The prosecutor said that Nnamdi was apprehended as he made attempt to jump the fence.
He tendered a cell phone belonging to the accused which dropped from his pocket as he tried to scale the wall as exhibit.
The prosecutor told court that the offences contravened sections 342 and 299 of the Penal Code.
Nnamdi who admitted committing the offence pleaded for leniency. (NAN)
