Birnin Kebbi – The Chief Imam of Birinin Kebbi Central Mosque, Malam Mukhar Gwandu, has appealed to Muslims to embrace Islamic banking.
Gwandu made the call while delivering sermon at the Friday prayers in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.
He commended Islamic banks for operating interest-free loans to customers and to make its system accessible to non-Muslims.
He said “I urge the Muslim Ummah, especially the well to do to transact their businesses with Islamic banks as an interest free banking
system.’
“This is because it is the recommended way of doing business by Allah.”
He also urged Muslims to be law abiding and shun acts that would interfere with strict Islamic teachings.
According to him, Islam requires total submission from its adherents to the laws and regulations of the creator of the universe.
He reminded Muslims to retain their religious, traditional and cultural values, in preference to adopting foreign cultures.
Gwandu also called on Muslim parents to ensure proper moral upbringing of their children. (NAN)
