ABUJA – Gov. Theodore Orji of Abia State on Thursday called on stakeholders in the industrial sector to invest in the state, assuring them of adequate incentives.
Orji made the call in Abuja while speaking at the 2nd edition of made-in-Aba Trade Fair.
The trade fair is being promoted by Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe.
He said that his administration had made necessary facilities available to ensure that investors doing business in the state had returns for their investments. [eap_ad_2] He listed micro credit facilities from banks as well as partnership with Bank of Industry (BOI) to ensure that traders and investors get soft loans to carry on their business as part of the initiatives.
Other efforts, he said, were the provision of adequate security in the state.
Orji advised Aba traders and investors to stop branding goods produced in the state as having been manufactured overseas.
“You should brand goods you made as made in Aba goods rather than labelling them made in China or South Korea’’, he said.
Besides, he urged all citizens to patronise products made in Aba.
Earlier, Alhaji Bature Masari, the Director-General of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN), called on politicians to emulate Abaribe’s efforts to encourage SMEs.
“If any person or government has anything which the agency can help in terms of creating jobs, SMEDAN is ready to assist,’’ he promised. [eap_ad_3]
